A Level English Literature

The texts involved are set, as the ASW2 online course has specific resources for these, and they would be:

(for the January 2008 exams)
A Streetcar Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams
Selected Poems of John Keats
Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley
Alias Grace, by Margaret Atwood

(for the May/June 2008 exams)
Hamlet, by William Shakespeare
The Whitsun Weddings, by Philip Larkin
Dr Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe
The Tempest, by William Shakespeare
Translations, by Brian Friel
(plus a little unseen poetry / prose work)

NB it would be possible for you to resit any of the January 2008 exams in June 2008, and still keep within doing it all in a year ... but I think you would ideally want avoid resits, as there will be plenty to work on for the June 2008 exams themselves, as you can see!

Studying the literature itself is really a process of having a good read, and using the resources on ASW2 to help you to interpret the text you are currently studying, and place it in some sort of historical and social context - and using me to try your ideas out on, submit practice essays to for feedback, and to discuss the material that you come across.
